And the, suddenly, the prospect of war in the Ukraine and an embargo on Russia has grain traders wondering what,if anything,is going to happen to grain trade and grain prices. The market was boring last week. What now ?

Decisions, decisions sell some today or ride it a bit further?

Don't know.I don't "need" to sell grain for a couple of years,so I won't panic.Futures have risen, what,a few percent for some positions this morning so no panic there at the moment. You could easily imagine scenarios where grain prices collapse and where grain prices rocket.Or where pressures for up or down aren't great.Or where they cancel each other out.So I'm sitting on grain which could rocket or slump or stay much the same.I'll cope financially with any scenario.People living in the Ukraine have far greater worries. My heart goes out to them.

Sold a bit of feed wheat for £157 May collection this am, still not as high as the earlier sales but better than £150 last week!

I'm guessing Fraggle is nr Darlington which will have much higher prices then Essex. Scottish premiums are huge and as a result even farmers in South Yorks/ N Lincs can factor in against Scotland at the mo. Must agree, I'm struggling to see any downside pressure just yet.

yes not too far from Darlington, price is just for feed spec alchemy, I could have sold it for a biscuit contract at £163 last Monday. The grain trader did say today that the biscuit premium has now gone.

That's a good price I was offered £165.00 from 1 merchant today but feel sure another one will come in a little higher tomorrow, not much left to sell mow (not that there ever was :( )
