Controlling birds in buildings.

We have an open fronted garage for the cars which birds also like to use and sh!t on anything in it. Any tips on things that act as a deterrent and actually work, like plastic owls, CD's, glitter tape etc.

What species? If swallows, I'd suggest suspending a sheet to create a false ceiling above the vehicles to protect them. If pigeons, there's bound to be a local falconer who would be glad to catch them for hawk food. Birds become immune to any deterrent in time.

If it’s got a peaked roof and the birds are living up in the rafters, the best thing would be to board it out so the birds have nowhere to sit.

Strips/curtain over the front to deter them from entering but still allowing vehicle access/exit?

Agree some fine netting pinned under the beams.
Or do what most do and move all the spare crap into the garage until your car has to stay outside.

Agree with the netting. Cover every place birds can sit and sh!t and they won’t stop in there as no place to land
