What is the point wearing a hair net in the mill if your hair sticks out underneath it?!

Just as bad as the man with the snood in the dairy on BBC Milkman with @garethwynjones whose beard was sticking out from both sides.

Assurance wouldn't be too impressed. Doesn't give a great impression showing it on TV.

Glad that at last the Isle of Man Govt is helping to generate a local food economy. When I visited about 10 yrs ago they grew mainly mass commodities and imported loads of niche stuff, good that they are facilitating their own niche stuff now.

It's many years since I was in the IOM. My Fathers family came from there, Senogles is a good old Manx name. But I have heard that Douglas has become very run down? It was never one of our favourite places, we always stayed with relatives in Foxdale. Can anyone confirm or deny this please, as I would like to make the trip once again to revisit our old haunts.

a bit different if its let and occupied than if its just used for a few weeks per year by someone that has more money than they need
Why? Lots of ex farm cottages now holiday lets too. Slippery slope dictating whether somebody can own more land, more than one farm, how they want to split their time. I accept the argument that it drives up property prices. You should try living in the London hinterland with rural wages

That's a massive amount of money generated by holiday home letting.
The owners, the management company, the caretaking companies, gardeners, all trades men and women in the local area as holiday lets have to be kept tip top . Star rating companies (visit Britain etc) . Pubs restaurants shops do better as the tourist generally spends more while on holiday .
All the people who work for the above including the owners already pay tax so by taxing them out of ownership all the above will lose jobs .
I don't think the % of 2nd homes are for the sole use of the owner will be that high .
The tourist industry is here to stay like it or not .
After F&M there was mutterings from the tourist industry about how much they lost due to F&M and if memory serves it dwarfed the loss to Agriculture.
