Unless your a teacher, the correct response to a playground argument is "fight, fight, fight....."

On a philosophical thought about proof, for most people, science needs a little bit of faith. Unless you go to a lot of effort critically reviewing and replicating everything you read, you have to take some of it on good faith. Its not unheard of for deliberatly false reports managing to get published in academic journals.

Best to take everything you read with a pinch of salt, but getting to cynical is about as good for you as taking too much salt.

EG do viruses cause disease or are they evidence of the problem
Quite, look for the reason not the result, most research seems to say doing A produces result B 75% of the time not WHY it does only 75% of the time and what makes the result different 25%
