Death Throws of No Deal

I was talking about this forum. There is a lot of gloating about things which have not happened yet and indeed, those responsible have been wrong multiple times since 2016. It's not a great look. I'll be quietly satisfied if the end result is what I wished for. I'm not concerned for the UK at all. A narcissist has the outlook that the other party cannot possibly survive without them. It's a totally blinkered approach to life but it comes on gradually until it's too late. This is where the EU is now. They cannot believe we don't want them any more. Well we don't, so bye.

tell that to the welsh sheep farmer in the spring.
or the beef farmer who see a massive drop in price because we can't export the "5th quarter" any more
or the OAP living on the bare min, only to see there food prices go up 10-15%

Tell me now rather than the Spring, my stores went very well last week...

Beef will be sold domestically, prices go up and down, it's business.

Are you really trying to scare monger, and then doing so in an utterly stupid way? Everyone else in the whole world thinks that if we 'can't' export produce and are 'exposed' to the global' market, then food prices will come down. Still, you know best... :ROFLMAO:

As the clock winds inexorably down to deal or no deal, and the EU showing ZERO signs of “bricking it”, as the loyal TFF Brexiteers expect, the U turn preparations have begun in earnest.
Barnier of course recognises the shift from dogma, to bravado, to realisation, and latterly to panic! As an experienced operator, he also of course recognises that there is no better time, to turn the screw the last few threads!
The only question is who will be PM after the dust has settled? Will the usual suspects (dyed in the wool Borisites), abandon their leader as quickly as he abandoned ND, and they previously abandoned Mother Teresa, and all swing in glorious chorus to #rishimoneygrowsontreessunak!

Brexit deal close but EU seeks more before starting final talks

it was Boris that set today's deadline for a deal or else
EU didn't give him a deal
did Boris walk, nan he having a meeting on monday cause "he want to get the EU more time"

so it the EU call boris bluff as there still no deal and boris hasn't walked

I don't see any gloating on the EUs part , just exasperation and some sadness.
Problem with Singapore is they've no agriculture.

There's a lot of banter and giving of stick on this forum however, while it would be a joy to see Boris get his comeuppance I don't know of anyone, including myself, who isn't dismayed, sad and genuinely concerned for the UK and particularly in our circle for UK Agriculture.
Bonne Chance
I think you forgot about that Irish fella. :) ;)

Seems to me that you've forgotten about the Conservative Brexit voters .. Boris won't be allowed to stay in power nor the Conservatives unless they put the UK people first.

The EU is finished in the UK .. IMHO the mood is for very heavy taxes in EU goods ... IMHO EU fishing boats need confiscating and their crews thrown off - personally I don't care where.

No point in taking any notice of any of the S
shite out of Boris or No.10 today. Had he said “talks are over, door is closed, we are leaving with ND” then I’d give it credit, but all the “Brexit talks are over” threats are ending with “unless”. Both sides are postering so ignore it.

Boris has to avoid the charge of not wanting a deal .. hence the door will be ajar or at least seen to be so regardless of what happens.

That's just covering your backside for the next election and defending said rear from Theresa May's Liberals within the Conservative Party.

Why aren't you selling goods locally ? Most goods should be made locally .. there's no need to export jobs to some hell hole on the Earth so some already super rich idiot can get richer.

Good point and a nice idea.
We do produce the local produce. Limousin beef in the limousine. Now the local household market seems to be for cull cows. Ours do stay local. Heifers, some areas want tiny finished heifers, some want them huge but largely for the restaurant trade, lots of expensive stuff being Lyon to Paris but pretty much all in France. Well, that’s half of what we produce, the French don’t seem to eat the bulls, a huge percentage have a market in northern Italy, some to Holland, so that is what our coop does for us, kill very local and ship to the market. The bull thing I don’t understand, we have had the odd fat bull killed and butchered and to me it’s the best beef/meet even I have ever had, whereas some cull cows can be a bit disappointing (but maybe in the cooking?).
So yes, half stays kind of local, the other half just doesn’t have a French market, never mind a local one.
