Hiya,

Anyone done the above? On 6" land drains. Can they be attached to a jetter, for example, and whats the longest "run"? Any company recomendations?

I have tracked some land drains with a reciever on the end of homburg jetter. So length wasn't an issue, pinpointing wasn't exact but good enough

So entirely feasible to trace say a 6", modern drain up to the length of a jetter run then?

Yes, totally feasible, it is easier with 2 people and follow from the start then try and find it out in the field

Many thanks. It wouldn't be me doing it - would get a company in - but like to know what's possible and feasible before I hear the inevitable "teeth sucking" / gonna cost you noises.

Our contractor made themselves a jetting machine. They have a device ??? need to ask exactly what, which puts a signal through the steel reinforcing of the jetter pipe. Standard CAT scanner on the surface tracks the pipe.

Have you got a jetter? I don't think your far away from me, I have a nozzle that fits on the homburg, you can put the sender in but it will also flush water backwards as well.

Attach a signal generator to your jetter, can pick it up with cat scanner then. Quite accurate
