Electricity tariffs/Prices

I was contacted by a couple of call-centre brokers about eight weeks ago who were desperate to sign me up for my March 2023 contract at £0.75 day rate. One of them was very persistent and I told them where to go and what to do with their generous offer in the end.
Yesterday I was contacted by a local broker’s agent, who I know and lives two miles from me, who was the first with genuine advice, offering a day rate of £0.56 yesterday for a six month contract but to wait as long as possible to the end of contract date as it is likely that rates will fall further and only to go for a six month contract at whatever rate he offered. There is a small chance that oil prices will rise substantially from April onwards but gas prices have already halved and were unlikely to rise much over Summer and gas is more relevant to electricity prices.

The local man said that he will keep an eye on the market and if there is a sign of prices rising before the end of March, he would get in touch but otherwise will get in touch with a price as late as possible to catch the best price for me. I need do nothing until he gets back in touch.

Electricity contract ends shortly. Been offered 57.31p/ 40p day standing charge 12mths and 58.8 / 25p day standing charge 2yrs. I think there is 3.7p or so to come off in government aid. As I understand it I could go out of contract and pay around £1 a unit but government price cap would bring it back to around 65p a unit but have the flexibility to get a cheaper deal if price's ease in the spring. Any thoughts?🤔
Shouldn’t matter to a wealthy organic poultry farmer like you

So looks like we will all be getting a just under 2p/KWh rebate on our electric price from April, as opposed to the current 21p/KWh rebate (providing you are paying over 30ishp/KWh). Or have I misunderstood the figures. So stuck with a contract price of 57.8p/kwh (after discount) until December!

Kind of glad I just fitted a load of PV panels and batteries. Just ned to sort out a small hydro system to get me through the winter and I reckon I can pull the plug on the greedy buggers.

What are others paying?

Using around 17000units a year, 3 years of 17ppkw with SP ends 31st Jan. Staying with them 86ppkw on a variable 🙄 57ppkw on contract.

Best quote I can find is British gas lite, 42ppkw and 40p standing charge, one year contact..

Wow, that has come down a bit. I went out of contract (14p/KWH last October and was getting quotes of over a pound a unit. Waited till December and got a 1 year contract from BG Lite at 59.6 a unit and 40p a day
