Europe Climate Vandals

Europe along with nearly most exporting importing countries in the world, heads of state are fast to point out the so called climate catastrophe headed our way...yawn.

Ive long said that i have not seen a positive policy for the climate, ive seen plenty of retarded policy and duplicity.

People standing up like they are god looking down there nose at everyone.

So why is it France allows its companies to export bread rolls 16,685km as the crow flys to Australia...and sell for 2.60 aud pack of 6???????????????????????

If my retarded leftist government was serious about the climate and so was the so called environmental heros in the french....would they not stop this mindless exporting of products that Australia could and shpuld easily produce itself??? The largest supermarket chain in the country is selling these...and they taste like shite...i will inspect closer when buying on future.

They are all ok woth going after cow farts and the ag industry but how is it this is left to continue.

Ant....

The fact is the world thrives on international trade. It genuinely lifts people out of poverty and that benefits us all as there is less conflict and mass migration. The Earth's population is going to hit 10 billion before the world's poorest economies are rich enough to have a reasonable standard of living. We need to find new ways to go about our business without relying on so much fossil fuel and the only way to do that is with the power in the atom unfortuately.

Every country will have to have a long term nuclear spent fuel repository where these stuff can be parked long term and monitored easily.

Mindless trade cant be tolerated if we are facing death and destruction as per the readings from prophet Greta.

Sensible trade of items that offer value yes.

But i will be effed if im going along with climate the nonsense while all this still occurs.

Going by your logic if 10 billion people on the planet can trade willy nilly...the carbon output will be horrendous.

If they all are out of poverty and driving an electric car...i dont think you realise how much mining and chemical leaching will need to occur, mining on a scale much larger than now due to most richest deposits already mined.

No thought goes into this..thinking all will he dandy.

We're managing with 8 billion now, another 2 billion you will hardly notice.

Not everyone will perhaps need to live the same kind of life as in the West. Perhaps other countries will find a better balance and one that is kinder on them, their environment and their health?

I'll remind you of that when the aussie/kiwi lamb arrives in uk😁

do take your point though🙂

hypocrisy is that I don't think imports have a 'carbon footprint' on buying country 🙄

Greta was a child puppet with zero knowledge, nothing new in a little girl with pigtails being used by dictatorships, Hitler, Stalin and Mao did the same.
She's less useful to them now.
The idea that the world paid any attention to her is a sign of how stupid people are.

All electric cars is a delusion.

Nuclear is about the only hope, I'd guess that Nuclear power for electricity and shipping, along with hydrogen for smaller vehicles like cars, trucks and tractors will be the most likely sources of energy IMO.

I'm not concerned about carbon since we're low on it anyway, I'm more concerned that we're needing fuels to replace fossils before they are exhausted, and so far the progress is slow.

The idea which is held by many, that we will leave oil and gas in the ground whilst using less convenient and more expensive alternatives would be extremely naive. It's all getting used so the carbon is getting emitted whether we like it or not, but I'd like to see sensible alternatives put forward before that, few decisions are made under duress.

So an extra 2 billion people is nothing ?
A carbon footprint is the total amount of greenhouse gases (including carbon dioxide and methane) that are generated by our actions. The average carbon footprint for a person is 16 tons,

Why would the developing world care a fudge about the West moaning about their carbon emissions?

Their argument is that our countries became developed through burning coal. Why should they not be allowed to do the same? There is a strong connection between the availability of cheap electricity and people's quality of life. If you give people electricity, suddenly their lives improve. They can cook and light their homes. They can buy a washing machine and suddenly the women of the household don't need to spend their whole day washing clothes. Water can be pumped from deep underground, not obtained from unreliable, polluted or unsafe surface water sources. Children can be sent to school, not kept at home scraping an existence off subsistence agriculture.

I don't think a mass pandemic would do much. probably impact the developed world harder than the rest if anything.
It most certainly did. Hit all the fat soft and old folk. However the lack of trade and tourism hurt us.
I went on a tour of the Port Hedland iron ore terminal about thirty years ago the guide told the us that the cars we’d come in had probably left Australia as iron ore from the same facility ( most of the cars were Japanese ) I thought why not build them in Australia and ship the completed product from there however if Australia can’t bake buns building a car might be a bit too hard.

Mystified why any aussie buy French bread - must be a tiny amount, not worth getting in a tizzy over?

Doesn't even show up in stats:

The family of our builder here in Kenya live in Perth. The sister is off tomorrow with a bag full of Chevda and other Indian delicacies they don’t make there either. The good news is my daughter sent us a package of Australian work clothes last week. So we are all wandering around the farm looking like displaced Aussie farmers and all the Indians in Perth will be celebrating Christmas like they are in Bombay. It’s how trade works.

I still get the random emails to go. 120K to work as an entry level doctor in ED in Australia. A nice beach house, surfing on your off days.

My school mate is an orthopedic surgeon in Melbourne ( he failed to get into vet school ). However my sister in law is now working as an oncologist in a hospital in Freemantle and to make matters worse my mother in law lives there too.

No it's not. The average for a person living in Africa ( where the extra 2 billion might come from) is a lot less than that generally they don't use a lot of fossil fuels especially when compared to someone like you. They won't have a car or central heating or even electricity for a start.
