Is there a way so when I switch spreader off it turns ez guide shadding off, so it measures accurately, / shades work done.
Spreader is a kuhn quantron e variable rate no weigh cells year 2005.
Remember @sleepy did something 3 yrs ish ago but can't find it.

I don't know very much about the Quantron boxes, it depends if they have an output that is switched on when spreading is turned on.

If they don't have an output, then you will have to get a bit creative with a microswitch. I'd use something like this: https://uk.rs-online.com/web/p/products/3081894
And mount it so as it is triggered whenever the outlet is shut (so you don't have to adjust it) depending on how much the shutters are open.

Pin 8 & 4 on the ez guide off the top of my head. pin 8 is ground.

SORRY I'VE RE-EDITED THIS HAVING RE-FAMILIARISED HOW A QUNTRON E BOX WORKS!

Yes, it can be done using a relay. I have done it with my Landquip sprayer.
I mounted the relay on the side of the sprayer control box and wire it so that as I turn the boom master switch on, it then clicks and the EZ 250 starts turning the field yellow.

Your Kuhn spreader probably has a STOP/START switch that turns both sides on at the same time. To power up your relay, you will link it to this switch on your Quantron E box. (see below)

Better still if you speak with Alex Pascoe from Vantage (Trimble Agriculture). One of his colleagues used to work for KUhn and they might be able to supply a lead to join Quantron E to the EZ 250.

If they can't help, there was some confusion as to the wiring numbers on the plug that Trimble supplied, but we got there in the end.
If you need to go down this route with a relay and the Trimble plug, which is in fact, a DEUTCH 12 pin plug.
You might actually already have this plug connected to your EZ 250.
You will need a really high powered magnifying glass to read the numbers on it. They are NOT what is shown in the instruction book picture of the plug.

To wire the relay connect:
pin 4 from of the DEUTCH plug to terminal 30 of the relay
pin 8 from of the DEUTCH plug to terminal 87 of the relay

From the Spreader plug (or socket) that you attach to the socket (or plug) at the back of your Quantron E box, identify one of two wires/pins that goes live to open either the right or left shutters switch, when you press the START/STOP button on the Quantron E box, to start spreading. Piggy-back - Connect that wire/pin to terminal 86 on the relay.

Connect terminal 85 of the relay back to the main negative earth in the Quantron E box (or the earth side of its power supply plug).

Now, as soon as you turn the spreader on to spread, the EZ 250 will show where you have spread in yellow.
When you switch it off, the screen will show green.
If you double dose any, it will show grey.

BUT remember it will only do so on the side (left or right) you connected to terminal 86 on the relay!

Jeez, this isn't a post to put on the Quick fixes and bodges thread!
