Quite like this 1, does farms typically come with a milk contract and cows? And if not is a milk contract hard to get?
Not many winter milk contracts about, (would you want the hassle) normal supply just depends on where you are and who's in the area. Fonterra used to have to take you if you were in their area but that may have changed now, you also needed to buy shares but that's changed too, I think.
Herds are bought and sold all the time, shouldn't be an issue.
Know nothing about the North Island, that one looks a long way north.

I know no difference on location as iv never been to nz. What areas would be best for having the best longest growing season that doesnt get burnt out in summer?

Canterbury grows a lot of grass but you need irrigation. Every areas different, you need a trip (y)
Need to stop the tractor talk and switch to cows and grass growing though no diesel required:p

I plan to take a trip sometime. I had a little helper born on saturday there so if hes interested when he comes leavin school age im seriously considering relocating, the wifes a nz native anyway so gettin citizenship shouldnt be a big issue. Doubt il loose interest in the tractors either though
