Feeder Bucket

This winter I will need to feed more mill mix due to a lack of hay/silage.

In the past I would have had a mill mix wagon in to process some.

I’m looking into a roller mill but would need to mix too.

However as I’m faced with having to feed a lot more than usual, I’m interested in a feeder bucket ideally which mixes too as there will be a fair amount to mix and feed and would have a lot of bagging mixing to do otherwise. It can be either tractor or handler mounted.

Any recommendations greatly appreciated. If the budget gets too high then I’m probably into cheap 2nd hand Feeder Wagon territory.

You would probably get a cheap feeder wagon cheaper than a new mixer bucket. I priced a new Emily bucket last year cause I was thinking the same and you needed to sit down when given the price, think it was about £6500.

We've got an Emily Duo Mix and it's a great bit of kit for mixing dry feeds. It utterly hates chopped straw or any other fibrous stuff any longer than that but in fairness they never said it'd mix this anyway. It takes 20 seconds or so to fully mix anything with the ability to feed it out straight away too.

Just started with one as well. Yes expensive but seems well built. Will mix and feed out 500kg in 5 minutes. We are mixing crimped wheat, milled maize, rape meal and minerals.

We run an Emily Duo mix as well it's a fantastic bit of kit. Barley, oats and pellets etc it handles without any difficulty and will fully mix a bucket of straights in no time. We do feed a straw based moist feed through it as well just have to mix it up a bit more before hand and acciosnally wind it the reverse way to close the door to dislodge any food blocking the outlet.

Got a emily Melodis and it’s a hell of a bit of kit but joined the dark side after 6 years and got a tub mixer now. Was taking too long with the Melodis, hard on jcb, struggled with forage wagon silage and couldn’t weigh.

Anyone on here was/still using an Emily melodis feeder on front of telescopic? Toying between one of them and a s/h tub feeder but lack of tractor and slightly awkward sheds means an Emily feeder might be an option? To feed around 200 cattle and 500 sheep in lots of various small groups
