What are peoples views on tackling whites in dairy cattle? We usually jag with estrumate but never seems to be very successful? Any tricks of the trade and opinions would be interesting to hear.

Current best research says: (assuming it's genuine whites - endometritis after 21d) 21-33d calved: Metricure. After 33d: CL present, 5ml Lutalyse (dinoprost). CL not present: Metricure.

It is not contagious, but mating can introduce infection. Likely that with that number there are energy or mineral imbalances.

Obviously injectable antibiotics will cure it, but they are overkill and more costly.

Hope this helps.

anyone tryed flushing with iodine solution? heard of it being done, also what are people doing with cows that stick to clensings?

any assisted calvings or retained clensings i give them a couple of iodine pesseries, maybe repeat after a couple of days, so far i have calved 260 in last 2 months, used 40 odd pesseries, but only 12 metricures
best of all no cases of milk fever
