Formalin

How long does it last in a footbath ran some through today and plan to run them through again next week some time

foot bath was cleaned and new water obviously it now looks dirty cant see the bottom of the foot dip

Will I need to through it out or how long will I get out of it ?

How much do you normally top it up by @neilo

200liters or so I put 11 of formalin in that was last Sat probably move them an run them through it again this sat would another couple litres do or would it be too much

How does it work? Seems to react after a while. I've seen me loading cattle and getting splashed by it. No problem jump in tractor and by end of farm road have to throw off boilersuit and dump it out of cab as I can hardly see. Eyes streaming.

Supposedly it doesn't work if you get organic matter in it, but stick your finger in it next week and see.;) I tend to just top the bath up unless it's got really sh*tty, or if there's a big bunch to go through. Seems to work still, for scald anyway.

It is better if all cleaned out but the mud build up doesnt effect the formalin IMO. Just pour a wee bit of fresh formalin every now and again and fire on (y)

Depends how empty the bath is. I only use a narrow one, which holds 2 or 3 25L drums of water and just top it up with more 4-5% solution.
