Malting would have been tricky if it caused a problem....

I and many others spray malting crops with it 2 weeks before harvest every year without any germination troubles and with malting your require 98% germination to make the grade. Seed you buy only needs to be 85% germination so I'd say it's unlikely to be much of an issue for FSS.

Never had a problem yet.

Although I would consider you mad to plant any without performing a rudimentary germination test... Which will answer your question and eliminate guess work !!

On malting you just need it to germinate and not much beyond that - on seed you need it to germinate and go on to produce a healthy seedling.

Round Up/Glyphosate on plants where the grain is not low enough moisture can cause 'abnormals' which is seed that germinates but produces distorted seedlings which of course may not go on to produce a healthy plant.

So absolutely get a proper germination test done if you do use Glyphosate. That is why we don't allow it on seed crops.

Would that be a low vigour seed then

whats the reason for using glypho on a bit to be used for hss? if its to hasten ripening/reduce moisture then dont do it for the risk of seed damage, if its to kill grass weeds etc dont do it as you will only be sowing weed seeds with your hss however good the cleaner is ,better not imo
