Groundswell: The No-Till Show

At least they mentioned the name of the show, which is more than the FW managed. Nice profile of Andy Howard as finalist of Arable Farmer of the Year though. And someone called Tim Bullock being beastly to slugs

Tried to redress the balance a little :D;) apologies for my typo though. Nick spotted it on Facebook

We have now uploaded a lot of the presentations on the website and some photos that Dave Francoisy took on the day

and click on resources

Most of the speakers didn't want to be filmed talking, but they have released their slides to give you some idea of what it was all about. Handy if you didn't take copious enough notes...

Farmers Weekly have actually run another story on the event! The reporter must have been to a couple of the talks. Tony Reynolds & Sarah Singla were mentioned.

I cannot get my head around why FW cannot mention the word Groundswell...? The Cherry family went to great lengths to put this event on and yet it appears if the reporters went out on their own to report an event that 500 of us attended... I just don't get it....!
A useful lesson for BASE-UK don't invite the press to our meetings...they will take away stories to fill their pages without giving us any mention.

You find those people everyvere, who dont want to give the credit to who deserve it! They dont want to cope with others, just try to make others in bad light! You find them in UK and in Sweden and everyvere !

We have booked David Montgomery to talk at next years show (29th June 2017). He has a new book coming out in May: Growing a Revolution - Bringing our soils back to life and will be talking about this as well as The Hidden Half of Nature and Dirt, the Erosion of Civilisations which have both been well reviewed on this forum. I am thrilled that he has agreed to come all this way from the West Coast of the USA, and I can't wait to hear him talk. He's also looking for other speaking gigs whilst he's over here, so if anyone wants to book him, PM me and I'll put you in touch.

Meanwhile, we've posted on or two new articles on the website www.groundswellag.com/news about last years show. A good one by Brian Sims from Landwards magazine.

Its a pity FW cannot mention the word Groundswell.... I bet they have never heard of BASE-UK...!

it's no mistake or oversight Jim - publishers make lots of money from shows and awards now, they will not help what they will see as competition

you never see them mention the farming forum either, which considering its the source of a lot of their content is also hard to believe that something with 20,000 farmers attention is not in any way relevant !

they will no all about Base as well but if your not paying then they are not going to mention you

Most of it wasn't that trashy, can a pre-em work with no actual soil to contact?

She's on my list! We are going to try to have fewer speakers this time to get people out of the shed and looking at the drills and other stuff. And chatting to each other...

That's a good idea. Maybe two speakers in the morning 9.30-11.30 and two in the afternoon 2.30-4.30. Have all the demonstrations in the 3 hr 'lunch break'?
