Help a man out

I don't think Tim Parton posted much here but sometimes did. Others will know him. He seems to have had an awful accident and (I think) he was a farm manager so may not have as much to fall back on as others. It sounds absolutely horrendous, so sorry to hear of this, it could happen to any of us.

Hopefully anyone reading may feel in a position to donate and add to the many hammers make light work theory

Sadly Tim Parton @parker had a terrible and life changing accident a couple of weeks ago

A go fund me has been set up to help speed his recovery and help his family

He’s a great guy / friend who has helped so many other farmers please support him as much as you can

and remember -be careful, this is another reminder of what a dangerous industry this can be

I know it sounds nosey but I’ve always found the more accidents I know about the safer I get as I keep them in mind.
Important to get a tiny bit of good out of a bad situation.
I get it if you don’t want to say.

i believe it was an accident involving felling or pruning a tree but not appropriate to discuss details or speculate. When feeling better Tim will maybe feel able to share his experience

There is something in this.... A neighbour recently reversed his pickup and knocked his father over. Luckily he was ok but I'm always more cautious reversing at the farm now!

Nearly ran myself over in my own truck the other week 🙈😬 forgot I’d left it in drive and got the trailer caught up on a gate, jumped out and pulled the gate out the way and next minute the truck flew off… ran after it and tried too hold it back because I thought it was in neutral.. nearly ran myself over before leaning in the door and pressing the break 🤦‍♂️

Will do, sounds awful.

I heard him speak once at Groundswell, I must admit most of it went over my head, but he must have a very open minded boss to let him push the boundaries of growing crops as much as he has as a manager?

Totally agree with that.

Nothing will make you more aware of risk that hearing someone explain a situation which you'll probably have been in yourself at some time, and how it went wrong.

Much more effective than any number of acronyms that the various agencies love to bombard us with.
