biggest catalogue l have ever had.

the young stock were seriously well grown, job to believe the ages of some, full marks to them for that.

for a really top class herd, thought prices for some, could have been better, but perhaps buyers were bidding for pedigree's,

but some really smart well turned out cattle.

but a very long day, we were going out, and had to leave at 5.00pm, close to another 80 odd lots to go then, so what time did they finish ? 6.30 ?

watched on marteye, way out of our price bracket, but interesting to watch, had a break to check calvers, and y/s, son was baling silage, so drove to see him, not many lots sold in that time.
Was it a dispersal or complete clearance sale?
no, it was their first on farm production sale, hell of a herd, by all accounts.

friday, but it had been sprayed off.
its wet ground, new to us, and when sprayed, it was a bit to wet for comfort.

so took the chance, field not bad, gateways bad.
174 wrapped from 26/7 acres. Chap that rowed it up, sent a photo, showing the dust coming from the swathe.

our £3,000 baler, after its usual miss or two, baled the rest, plus another 25 on the way home.

Now baled 850 so far, reckon its paid for itself, good buy.

Got 10 heifers due to Severus next month, are they coming out easily enough?

20 days early. First AltaSeverus dropped, out of a Supershot heifer.

Up and drank 3L via teat feeder within an hour of birth

Is there anything red that's worth using?

Im feeling rather uninspired, ranger red is the only one I think that can compete with black and whites at the moment but he's only available conventional and is £50 a straw...plus I have daughters of his to serve

I was going to use a couple from blondin but they're butterfat figures aren't good enough unfortunately 😕

Failing that who are the best red carriers at the moment?

Solito or Costanzo? IF BF check the crv catelogue out. Have Jacuzzi and Nominators in the herd now. Seem decent enough. Have some Delta Endless heifers coming to bull, dont seem too bad as well.
