Hi
Honda GCV530 twin Cylinder engine.
No spark at either of plugs
was running perfectly yesterday.
everything else fine. good battery, new starter motor. good fuel pump.

if i remove the kill wire from the ignition coils, I get a full spark and can start the mower, which tells me there is something earthing this wire normally and preventing the Coil from creating a spark. fine... ill check everything.
But..
1. can i run mower without this wire connected?? stopping the engine is tricky , as is engaging the belts to drive the deck. bit confusing..

any help appreciated

A friend has a Honda scraper for pig poop, it is 25 years old and the kill switch died 15 years ago. He says that you can easily kill the engine with one of the little lever things that are part of the governor.

Thanks. Any reason why it won't engage the deck with the kill wire removed???
Depends how any safety switches are connected (likely into the kill switch circuit) could be that it's a safety switch at fault not the kill switch (I don't know what lawnmower it is but does it have switch in the seat one linked to the bag if fitted etc?

Yes three safety switches. Tested all of them and seem ok

Not Honda. But had a similar problem with a twin Briggs and Stratton. On those the kill wire includes a diode, these diodes fail and cause this problem. If your kill wire has a diode you can use a multimeter to check it.
