Not normal practice, but cattle do look well enough and surprisingly clean, considering the wet winter (assuming they’re recent photos).

Yes, it would appear so. But the cattle themselves are clean and shining in the jackets, and that’s what matters.

Look good, straw stack probably acting as a wind break, out in the fresh air. Maybe needs a clean out but the owner might have expected them to be out by now, animals look fairly clean.
It would be better perhaps with a high roof over it but in my opinion that's way better than some of these cramped sheds over concrete slats with no bedding that you often see, particularly in Ireland.

I can’t work out if thats dung, wet/top bales from the stack or a heap of silage thats got ruined & they’ve dragged the sheet off. The way they’re stood on it without sinking it looks too firm for dung cleaned out from a shed & also for anything thats been there for a while with the weather we’ve had this winter.

If that's meant to be an outdoor bedded area, they'll have had to throw straw in like nobody's business this year. Hence the way it seems to have built up. Looks like they've been clearing behind the feed barrier though.
Considering how well the cattle look, it looks suspiciously like pictures deliberately taken from the worst angle.

I think in this case it seems a genuine question.
It has got me , and many others scratching our heads.
There can be no doubt that the stock look very well cared for but the condition of the 'corral' in the photo are not ideal.
Could be a good transitioning yard, getting them ready to be let loose after being in a shed all winter.

They are certainly kept in better conditions than a lot of poor folk in care homes and hospitals

I know it’s different as a lot colder but if you see those corrals on the likes of the States/Canada they pile the shite up and it goes hard . The stock love sitting on the high bit , it’s drier and there’s a heat off it .
If there’s a midden near by you often see hill sheep sitting on top rather than on the ground !

I think you should ask the owner if you have concerns. And not take photos of someone's stock from a distance.
If you are truly concerned, versus just trolling, grow a pair and go to the door.

I can assure you I have no agenda , had no idea what PETA was ,had to look it up.
Was out walking and footpath went through yard, pictures were taken from footpath, no angles or deliberate intention to cause trouble. No hidden clean bed area, there was a shed behind with more cattle with better bedding
I was just shocked at the heaps of manure in pens , and how much sh!t they were stood in.
The comment re lots of straw chucked in and heaped up, not cleaned out ,sounds most likely, as I'm not a cattle man hadn't thought of that.
