You'll get enough penetration with plenty of weight and pressure and good discs

Brilliant drill, happy direct, mintil or on ploughing with great results. only downside really is they are quite high maintenance to keep top top
i dont want a brown field and want to move as less as poss so less weeds!!want to drill into stubble ,grass and also cover crops.only be doing maybe 100 acres a year so shouldnt wear out tooquick!!

@Simon C How and where did you attach the weight?
On the back sounds like on the platform, over the press wheels rather than the discs. My 3m moore could have done with some ballast last year, though often I find its only patches of fields it really struggles with and often in the same run it finds a soft spot and sinks in too far.
