Kuhn sw4014 wrapper

We have an older model without the autoload but I think it's a great piece of kit, very versatile and wraps square or round with only a change on the control box required. The squarer the bale the better, 120x90 are easier to wrap than 120x70, especially on a steep slope as they don't flop over the corners to the same extent.

I think you have to drive under 4k for autoload to work. Wonder if you could be going too fast? Not used one myself just seeing if it works or not... Plan would be on a vario tractor with a cruise set at under 4k for when you approach a bale.

It tells you on the box if your going to fast everything has to be perfect for it to work bales and level fields we don't use it really too temperamental.

Have a 4014 and don’t need/use the auto load, you do have to drive below a certain speed and when using auto load the rollers do close a few inches, this verses pushing a button to pick a bale up is nothing. Have used it with power beyond this season and I would say it’s quicker than when running through spools and using less diesel. Having run several mchale 998’s this has been a cheaper wrapper to run and far easier to move on the roads, with less moving parts.
would I buy another when the time comes ?

In a heartbeat.

Yes you have to be under a certain speed and a good operator will out perform it ok if your not pushed to get work done but more of a gimmick

My haylage baling contractor runs one and an older mchale 998. They are much better on rounds than a mchale. A good operater is far quicker at loading than autoload. Saying that on squares our mchale 998 hi speed is a fair bit faster
