Not sure I get the point of a static show such as Lamma TBH

Rather have a working demo on our own farm if it was something we were really interested in. Or failing that, go and see said beast in operation
somewhere.

Edit: just remembered the history of Lamma. Think it was to give the arable boys something to look at in the bleak mid winter other than their wives , ski slopes or the barrel of a 12 bore

Despite costing me and my wife 212 quid to get there from Peterborough on the train; I see it as a good way to look at stuff without having some slimy rep ringing you up constantly after showing the slightest bit of interest. Yes they’re there; but when you’ve had enough of them you just walk away 👍 notably missing was Horsch and John Deere for me; also wanted to see spearhead. Won’t rush back for a year or two but it is what it is. Many many college age people there which was pretty annoying at times but they are the future I guess and we were all them once; worryingly…

Like going in to a bikini shop rather than a lap dancing club

Hall 17 was the hall that most interested me with both JCB and NH right beside each other.

We made a ‘B’ line straight for it and caught George Saunders and Kurt Lord Muck @Mucker4890 for a quick chat, while grabbing a coffee on their way from the NH stand back to Georges TW25 in Hall 6.
We discussed which types of paint to use on NH wheels and the fact that the Ford grey you can buy from NH dealers isn’t actually the correct shade of grey.
However, for NH white as used in the TW’s and 40 series, using Hammerite Smooth White is a very close match.
Even when brushed on and after 8 years, As in:

I hope not too many of you other buggers wrote 873 metres of string in the TW’s cab, because if it is correct I don’t want to share the prize!

As regards the JCB stand and @Chris F ’s last picture of the Fastrac with a Landqiup demount on it, My 28 year old version on my 2014 Fastrac 2155 is still in very good nick, showing just how well and durable those aluminium Pomier booms are and last. As in:

The NH CR11 was a sight to behold and nice to have quickly chatted to NH Harvester’s Nigel Honeyman, who was busy extolling its virtues to prospective buyers.
He can be seen in Chris F’ s 1st photo of the next post 33.
Nigel was a huge help when we did the Dual Stream project. Even though it didn’t go into production, one hell of a lot was learned from its data, especially regarding how to deal with MOG, which no doubt the CR11 takes some advantage of.

All in all a great day and a great show.
Such a shame that all most of us could do was only dream of having any of the kit exhibited at it!

Not once did I ask the price of anything there.
Under the old adage that “If you need to ask, you can’t afford it!”

Doubt I’ll bother going again luckily only 20 mins away,. Walked round everything in 3-4 hours.. spoke too the people I wanted too speak too but too many 14 year olds walking round in big groups for my liking couldn’t get near anything for kids.. when I was a lad you were only allowed too go with dad now they’re there in army’s 🙈😂 preferred it when it was outdoor

I wanted to make the comment about the kids but didn't want to get shot down as being an old fart. Also why look so scruffy and as for the language....

Aye, a disappointing lack of totty....... ? :sneaky:
I went to the Gents, well it had a sign usually assigned to Gents toilets, only to find it didn’t have any urinals in it.
Obviously far more blokes than women at this event, meant they had to make some concessions!

………I pity the poor cleaners this evening though.
Nuff said!
