Lidl solar panel floodlight

Lidl Livarno solar floodlight with movement detector.
Bought one of these from the local Lidl last week screwed it up on the wall pressed the on switch the light flashed briefly went out, in the evening nothing at all. Left it for a few days to see if it would charge but nothing. Took it back and swapped it for another one and exactly the same thing happened. Am I doing something stupid or are they all crap?

dig it open and have a look at the battery and how its set in, might be a wrapper on it or something stopping connection until removed ?

Never had any luck with Lidl light stuff, torches, bulbs, garden path lights all crap.

Thanks, that's the one, except they have modified it, the on/off switch is now a small button in the with the rest in the PIR unit. Will have an investigation tomorrow.

as steveR says batteries need to have a good charge then also you could try flashing a very bright(led?) torch / light around it /at it to 'jog' the light sensor or whatever and maybe at the same press the function button or something indoors in dim or dark conditions ,to trigger it on.

Took it apart, the battery is fully charged nothing untoward so I guess its a problem with the batch of PCB's in these lamps. Friend bought one from a different Lidl store, no problems with it.
