liquid starter fert osr

Been thinking about band applying liquid fert behind the subsoiler legs for the OSR.

I was thinking whilst im doing it I may as well apply all the autum N as well as the P and K For the crop in one go. Has anybody ever used any of the clear npk's from the likes of yara for this, and does anybody know if it will effect the seedling or scorch it being applied in a band?
I was thinking about something like a 6.11.12 at a rate of between 400 & 500 lts a Ha. I have a 1000 litre front tank, and a bowser that can sit in the field with a honda fast fill pump, so although fillups would be fairly regular, they wouldn't take long, and there would be no need to spread any other fert until the spring.

Any advise or experience much appreciated.

If you are band applying isn't that rate going to be even higher again. If you are doing a third of the area you would be applying theoretical 1500la. Isn't that the idea about band applying been able to use less to get the same result as total area applying?

It kind of is with regards to early N, but total n for the crop and p & k requirements and offtake will still be the same. I may cut it a bit, but im more trying to get better efficency from what rates ive been putting on, rather than cut back if that makes sence.

Are you k indexes very low ? If not I wouldn't put k on at drilling, you want it at stem extension really for max benefit

Clear p and k are expensive fert - I would just use liquid N on the drill unless your desperate for P ? And if you really want to get P at drilling consider DAP / MAP. Or if logistics are an issue try primary P or utmostart maybe ?

Spoke to agronomist today, and like you he said forget the k in the band, it can cause problems apparently?
Came to the conclusion that we will probably apply around 15-20kg / ha N and 20-30kg / ha of P. This will obviously be in a band so in reality will be like alot higher rate.
He was of the opinion that the P in the band was nearly as important as the N, and the P in the yara liquid compound is poly-ammonium phosphate,, which should fairly readily available, and is obviously 100% water soluble.
What do you think to that?
