On a bus from Ayers Rock to Alice on our trip to Aus, the driver put a tape of Len Beadell on, it was really interesting hearing about the road construction, and funny as well. I found his book on a s/h book site last year, also interesting how they cut the roads through with what seemed to me to be very minimal equipment, not so funny as the tape though! They had to put up with some appalling living conditions and how they dealt with so many tyre problems was amazing.

Mr Rootes lives about 2 miles from me .my nephew keeps his sheep there . Very nice person to talk to about when he run the car company and also about when he owned Cherwell tractors ,was a massy Ferguson dealership closed in the 80s

I hope they put something bigger under the hood or a low ratio box, otherwise that thing won't even get up a curb let alone a long slow climbing road
