Low bay lighting

I have two double tube lights in a shed and was going to fit some 400w lowbay lights what would the power requirement be for the lowbays be compared to the tube lights

What tubes are in you double tube lights ? 35w x2 vs 400w for the low bays both + a few extra watts for loses in short not good move for economy

worth considering LED low bay lighting, bit more expensive initially, but cheaper to run, long lasting and (i think i'm right) no strobing which can be important in workshop environments.

In theory LED should be longer life, but having suffered quite a few failures in the last couple of months I'm not so sure. As to strobing, HF fluorescents are at least as good as LED if not better and tend to have a less coherent (i.e. softer) light that is less tiring on the eyes.

I ve had two LED lights operating for 18 months without any failure issues, advantages are immediate light compared to the old ones that took a while to warm up. the light is , as you say, a bit harsh but I don't notice that now I am used to it.
