Anyone ever see small deformed looking cobs up at the top of the odd plant in an otherwise very good crop? Up at the tassel.
The question is do you believe it yourself? The 800t averaged, according to the multiple analysis at 34.94dm and starch content of 41.76

I think a lot of them are on tillers.Yes. I have seen this before. I have never looked for an explanation. I have only ever found it on a few plants so I just thought it was some genetic or developmental issue. All commercially grown forage maize plants are hybrids so the odd weird and wonderful specimen is to be expected.
There were a few on the trial plots at AGRII maize trials at Bridgwater, nothing unusual to see the odd one.
There's never normal in BridgewaterTotally normal for Bridgewater.
