Massey 6180 electrics

Hi all, have a 6180 here doing funny things! it’s stuck in diff lock, when you press the switch the light goes dim but won’t disengage, sometimes dynashift lights work but it’s stuck in D, forward/reverse just flash, also when the pto is on and you turn key off, the dash goes off but they engine stays running, like something is back feeding? Any ideas? Thanks

You need to go back to basics, start at the battery, check all wiring and harnesses for chafing or rodent damage. Possible chafing places are exhaust, fan / AC pullies etc. Dynashift and forward/reverse sounds like power/earth issues to Autotronic, but it does not explain why the engine stays running. Good luck, hope its something simple.

Lights going dim when functions are turned on suggests an earthing problem.

I’ve followed everything back to autotronic, I have 2 good live feeds and earth to autotronic. Also had the box checked with kings

When you change from forward to reverse the lights keep flashing and beeping?it’s the later Bosch type shuttle

What are you checking with a multimeter or a bulb? Sometimes a circuit will appear fine until there's a proper load put on it.

Yes testing with it under load, I think I have cured it with a calibration

That doesn't make sense, the only calibration is for the for / rev it won't do anything to cure all the other problems.

I managed to sort the rest and ended up with just the fwd/rev problem

I just wrapped 10 acres with it and it seems fine so far. The shuttle problem was the original problem before all the other strange things starting going on, maybe their was 2 problems

When my 6160 does this the only way I've found to sort it is turn it off, then turn the battery isolator off for 20 seconds, then turn the isolator back on.
