Bit of a project on my 6485 to remove electrical controlled bosh injection pump and ecu and convert it to a stenadyne manual pump which has been set up to give about 200 engine hp

Had to make an adapter to reduce the hole in the timing case to suit the new pump

fuel filters had to be moved with a new bracket which also holds the throttle cable

runs great now just needs the dash reprogramming to think it’s a 6465 with manual injection so it doesn’t throw up errors searching for the engine ecu

Did the throttle take much rigging up

Great job, those stanadyne pumps are great for low down torque, Mf 6180 tractors had those type pump we had ours tweaked which gave it much more torque, greater by far than the Mf 6290 which in my view a better tractor bar the crap Lucas Delpi pump, wish i had been brave enough to do what you have done, Will you dyno test her?

thats ace,

can you take a pic of you old pump drive shaft?

i want to see if its the same as my 6465 (mines same pump as your first pic or very similar) , sadly its a harder job on mine as the bloody water pump is right on the face of the pump other side of timing cover.

Did you swap injectors aswell?

where you get plate from for the pump to mate to timing cover. whats the donor pump off?

no its vp44 like yours, i found to my expense when it died 2 years ago, i got new one but i always think it would be better with older style pump.

You keep same injectors or swap them? had nijne done with pump but to be fair they seem fairly std so imagine they would be fine with a old style rotary pump.

What engine has you mf got looks slighly different layout to mine i assume its perkins 1006?
