Massey M40 combines

We have a 38, been a very good combine for us in OSR, WW, SW, SB and SBeans, hasn't cost us a lot in maintenance or repairs but we know a very good independent mechanic. If the price is right and its from a good home it should be a good bus.

There's not many things to watch for.
The hole being clean is one, then obviously the shaker bushes.
The unloading arm needs lots of grease daily, it is not uncommon for them to seize and knacker the ram/mounts which operates them.
Other than that it's just check for general wear and tear

It's my old combine, Trevor at Keith Davis has it now. Been very well looked after by John from Keith Davis for 5 yrs since I've had her. She'd do your acreage with easy. Be good to c her go to a good home silverfox!!!

Agree Plenty of grease on unloading auger. Ours stuck once just after we got it. Soon learnt to grease it well

Anyone running a 40 combine red chassis? I’m after a photo of the plug what goes to the voltage cut off relay on the actuator what starts and stops the straw walkers and drum etc. our 36 actuator had stopped working and got one off a 40rs which is a better stronger actuator but it hasn’t got this part on the short wiring. I think it is just a small black box but if anyone could let me know if they have one and send a photo with the numbers of the unit then I could order one to run this actuator on our 36. Thanks

Relay number could be D45080024 but they have been superseded many times. If it is the relay mounted near the actuator it has a time delay function and is nearly 300 quid....

Yeah I believe this is the part I am missing. Does this part plug into the 4 pin plug on the wiring for the actuator or does it have its own wiring from the fuse board. Is the D number a Massey number or is this a generic number?
