Friend lost a heap of youngstock, there was a 3 month age window where none were positive, after a horrendous blood test they traced the 3 month window to a high scc calf feeder that was dried off for 3 months and was high cells again at calving so fed calves again
She had TB in several places including her udder

Save yourself a couple of grand on milk powder...fudges your herd health for years.
Absolutely right. Whole milk comes with issues and if CMR bought well there a decent enough margin to be made between the milk litres in the tank and the powder cost. Don't use powders with any fibre listed on the ingredients - doesnt do anything for the calf and its all about lowering the price of the powder. Start the calves well and reap the rewards down the line. Start cheap and regret. ACT Action range are made using 100% dairy protein with a high skim content, UK made powders with clean label.
