I don't mind hearing this as Thomas Bell always look to have the best prices on The Fert Price Tracker, as long as the product is decentThey sold off Teignmouth a few years ago to help buy/ build the site in Wales they have just sold off!
MVF are now totally out of the fertilizer job from a production viewpoint, they will now just buy the Fertilizer off Thomas Bell and sons and sell it on to farmers etc.
More likely to be to do with their fairly new computer systems being hacked, they refused to pay up to the blackmail & the consequences of the fallout were far reaching, sadly other companies are now more likely to give in to this type of blackmail in future, computers & their systems will be a criminals paradise in future!MVF........ got too big, too quickly.
Now the chickens have come home to roost.
What happened?More likely to be to do with their fairly new computer systems being hacked, they refused to pay up to the blackmail & the consequences of the fallout were far reaching, sadly other companies are now more likely to give in to this type of blackmail in future, computers & their systems will be a criminals paradise in future!
I understand a new computer system joining up all of their branches was hacked & £500,000 demanded, when they refused to pay up all hell broke loose for months on end, they won't be the last to get caught like this I'm sureWhat happened?
Did i miss it?
Wow, is that true?I understand a new computer system joining up all of their branches was hacked & £500,000 demanded, when they refused to pay up all hell broke loose for months on end, they won't be the last to get caught like this I'm sure
Not sure any system is going to be totally secure as time goes by, what does a company do when faced with a threat it takes a brave company to stand up to the blackmailers.Wow, is that true?
I am shocked and also saddened, how can that happen if you have the right IT security and protocols?
Think you will find the blackmail attack & subsequent collapse of the computer system through out the firm is to blame, all firms rely totally on computers these days & all hell breaks out when they are corrupted.that new computer system is responsible for a lot more than just the hack. they will have lost thousands just from people getting p'd off at them not having what they say they have! Staff all getting fed up with the bad leadership (retail bosses not farmers at all) and the computers being awful. All gone downhill since bernard left....
When every market town, had a bank branch and all was written in ledgers..........money held in the bank's safeThink you will find the blackmail attack & subsequent collapse of the computer system through out the firm is to blame, all firms rely totally on computers these days & all hell breaks out when they are corrupted.
The trouble is you may think your companies computer system is secure but you never really know until the day comes when you are threatened then what do you do, it's a high stakes decision? When every market town, had a bank branch and all was written in ledgers..........money held in the bank's safe
At least you could identify the bad guys, running up the road in balaclava's
ExactlyIt's a criminals paradise .Had a call from lloyds last night to say wife's card had been used twice to buy stuff in US for pence it was .Then subsequent TX and call but at first didn't know if it was a scam !It was true and bank cancelled the card
Maybe they are going to sell more clover seed? Why would a agricultural co-op flog off one of the key inputs in ag?
(at least they used to have ) really good staff, the man in charge of the blending plant they used to have at Crediton (supplied from Tinmouth ) was well on top of the job, with good helpers , full of it very efficient, (pulled in there for a few tonne once and was 20 mins late , he gAave me a right telling off and made me wait 1 1/2 hrs before they could load me was my fault of coure ) pity all smaller places have to disappear .unmotivated staff.
Had loads from Crediton. Do you remember the jib they had on the forklifts to cope with the low doorways? Quite strange going there now for one of Barney's secret cider society tours.(at least they used to have ) really good staff, the man in charge of the blending plant they used to have at Crediton (supplied from Tinmouth ) was well on top of the job, with good helpers , full of it very efficient, (pulled in there for a few tonne once and was 20 mins late , he gAave me a right telling off and made me wait 1 1/2 hrs before they could load me was my fault of coure ) pity all smaller places have to disappear .
used to have them and ukf all within sensible tractor hauling distance
Everything changes but not necessarily for the better
Had a chat with brother it seems the demand was £5million rather than £500kI understand a new computer system joining up all of their branches was hacked & £500,000 demanded, when they refused to pay up all hell broke loose for months on end, they won't be the last to get caught like this I'm sure
