If you ring them put yourself through to one of the wrong options they will put you through to who you need to speak to
Hopefully
Yes I have been round the houses, basically i've missed mid tier and he just wouldn't walk me through my existing application to look at anything and I can't remember it all, basically I need a bit of handholding so I can actually apply. Makes me feel like I have taken stupid tablets every single time.

Leave the stupid tablets in the locked cabinet... we are all struggling with their advice at the moment and the RPA phone operators.. bless them... cant help us yet....

I just can't understand why the portals aren't just more user friendly and 'at a glance' I have to basically give a blood sample to see what's in any application. Ridiculous.
It is not funny really🤨 gov.uk always buy the very worst IT because they are any easy sell.. snag snag snag😏

Sounds like an announcement from DEFRA/RPA is due very very very soon..
If they want anyone to vote for them in 2024...
I am not sure the Conservatives want anyone to vote for them by the way they are destroying everything they touch in every industry/ changes they want to introduce in areas like PIP/UC support payments etc

But they really need to get on and launch the combined SFI/ CS scheme they have announced is coming as no doubt thousands of farmers ( esp grassland/ upland farmers ) are waiting to hear the details of the scheme etc before deciding if they can both make SFI work and if indeed its even worth applying for.

Everyone I have spoken to locally haven’t applied for sfi we are all pretty stuck at the moment
New options coming for grassland 50 odd options but not available yet we only know what a few of them are and stewardship means you can’t claim

Yep its an utter shambles and all the while they are cutting the historic payments yet moaning they have a big underspend as farmers are not claiming under the SFI scheme!

Well what do they expect when they will not release the details/allow applications of the combined SFI/CS scheme whilst the current SFI scheme is unworkable/ payments far to low for thousands of grass/ upland farms to be worth bothering with!

I cannot recall any sub scheme being introduced in the past that has been such a complete and utter mess/ shambles as we are currently seeing with the SFI scheme!

Just had the same conversation with a neighbor today abut it all. We can’t work out what they are up to or it’s just a fact they have a clue what they are doing

And Elms was meant to be this brand new, easily understood and applied for scheme when it was talked about. It couldn’t be any more the opposite! As you said utter shambles.
Have applied for some items on the animal welfare grant, had 3 emails now for details that aren’t correct. Was far easier when they just give you bps and allowed you to spend it how you wanted to. Clever person who decided the grant would go live in April when everyone is lambing and calving!

Yes I’ve had the same they sent my claim back saying the details didn’t match with the claim
They have all the information which they ask for time and again

With bps you could claim it and also at the same time farm your land in the most profitable way or most productive way. Sfi takes away from your existing farm income which means it’s money you are paying for to some degree.
Strange that some farmers have been in it 2 years now and we are still stuck with it especially considering they know hill farms rely on payments more than the better land. It’s almost as if it was done on purpose

Had surprise phone call from RPA today out of blue following request to move some GS4 into SFI about 6 months ago. They are happy to let me do it which surprised me as I have just submitted revenue claim for the year. Just got to email over the parcel numbers and they will remove them. But may lose the GS4 payments for this year and slight delay to get on to SFI.

Not sure whether to proceed or wait for new details to come out. Fear that my annual midtier payments maybe greatly delayed by complicating it midyear if I proceed now but some of my GS4 sown last year is poor but would fit SAM3 criteria no problem.

I'm sure that at some point they promised us that we could transfer midtier to SFI at no financial penalty so may query that with them if I can find it written down somewhere.

b'strds should make good on their promise to let cs holders leave agreements and move to sfi...
we should be able to exit without penalty on the 31st December and be able to apply for sfi on 1st of January

they should 'suck up' any potential loss..which wouldn't be that great

they'd save because it'd be simpler to implement

stiffed by them 5 yrs ago i'd just about started to forgive/warm to them again but the tw@ts go and do it again

3 times over the winter I've been asked by different bodies for access for wildlife surveys....3 times I've told them to 'eff off' because of Defra's betrayl

such a long post I can't remember if I've called defra 'effing twit b'srtds'🤔.....so ,just in case, DEFRA ARE 'EFFING twit B'STRDS'

ah that's better🥰

edit...I didn't say 'twit'...my 'expression' rhymed with 'cat"

Totally and unreserverdly agree with your comment there... The solution is obvious to all but DEFRA as usual...

@Vader I was in my agent's office today, they said you could do SFI management plans etc over all your parcels which are in CS, and also opt for some field scale options, and they can even be in same parcel at same time as a CS option (e.g. 10ha field, 3ha wheat, 4 ha CS AB15, 3ha SFI option). All while the CS agreement is still running.

With my CS agreement I don't have to have total amount of ha of an option that the agreement lets me have. e.g. if agreement is for 30ha of AB15, then I can choose to deliver and claim any area up to 30ha. So I can, if I wish, cut back CS option areas for rest of agreement, and do more SFI options.
