How much nitrogen are you allowed to spread per acre excluding the stock on it is it 135 units ?

No idea what the N Ireland rules are: in England the RB209 recommendation is based on rainfall and stocking rate, but it is not a legally binding limit, although there is an overall 'Nmax' across all the grass which you would need a good reason and an agronomist recommendation to go over. Only fym/slurries have an actual legally binding limit, but N Ireland may be different.

Thanks something tells me were only allow to spread 135 units of nitrogen but I don't know why that would be different from the rest of the UK

Different NVZ rules in different regions of the UK partly due to rainfall.

I have no idea what a "unit" is. How does 222kg/ha compare to your 135 units? Would you want yo apply 222 kg's?

I think units is like if you spread say one bag of chalk that's 27% nitrogen then that's 27 units


Or 222kg/ha is 440 units/ha or so
