Why are they always gettin moreI'm always amazed when I look into the milk price tracker thread to hear the boys over the water yapping when they're getting prices in the mid thirties. And that's maybe Oct/Nov prices. We produce the milk and then wonder what we'll be getting.
Probably because they’re not as dependent on the commodity market, powders etc. Having said that, I could be wrong but whenever commodities where above liquid prices I don’t think we got the big prices the GB market got to. Funny that! Why are they always gettin more
Its a constant shaftin in the 6 counties, they dont even use lubeProbably because they’re not as dependent on the commodity market, powders etc. Having said that, I could be wrong but whenever commodities where above liquid prices I don’t think we got the big prices the GB market got to. Funny that!
GB prices were slower to rise than ours last year and much slower to fall this year, normal service seems to have resumed. To be fair, Dale Farm did pretty well against English prices last year if I recall correctly. Current price is disappointing, but best of a bad lot.
Someone in that situation would be better to answer but as I understand it at least some of the processors have to ok expansion, others pay a B price on extra litres. Some want 12 month production forecasts with bonuses/penalties linked to their accuracy. Yew Tree are probably closer to our model than anyone else and they're paying a similar milk price to NI processors.Oh, over there are you signed into a contract that you must produce x amount of litres with at least xyz solids in etc or big penalties or no more liftin milk?
Is the situation here at the minute not down to the poor powder sales rather than a large over supply of milk?
