Also who’s buying a 33 month old heifer 😯 at our place it’s nearly always the younger heifers do better and the bigger stronger ones have problems, maybe more milk but find them harder to get back in calf

At the aurivo meetin today, they said outlook is positive currently but never commited to how much or when the price rise will come to us even though the gdt auction is up a fair bit from its lowest 🥴

Are they taking any Lakeland producers on? Word on the street is there are a lot of unhappy producers at the moment with some leaving to go elsewhere

Lakeland base this past two months is 27.25ppl. Was told Dale farm and green pastures is around 31/32 ppl base.

This is the toughest year of dairy farm I’ve been involved in a decade when milk was 18/19PPL.

Horrendous weather in March/April, poor grass growth in general, milk prices falling like a stone, wet July/August which brought fluke and then an early winter. Will be glad to see the back of it.

They always say the outlook is positive, for who though?

No necessarily true we looked at DF when we were leaving leckpatrick we would have been worse off at DF even if they payed a better base price as bonus’ were harder got

Enquired about termination notice for our contract with tirlan earlier this week. 2 years I was told. Paying the same as lakeland currently.
