Nugent flatbed

Has anyone got a Nugent flatbed trailer? Looking at a 14' tandem axle to go behind truck and have a couple of dealers locally now. I know the stock boxes are a league above an IW for build quality, but not seen many of the flatbeds about.

Mental price of half decent secondhand ones almost makes new look cheap. :banghead:

I've a 12ft one. Very happy with it. As has been mentioned plenty of tie down options and just like the livestock trailer we have there's no rattles to be heard!

I’d go tri axels over 12ft
Very good trailers but if could find fault they are heavy compared with others

I have enquired at same local dealer about trailer
I have also enquired at a manufacturer, I was expecting to be told I would have to buy from one of their dealers wrong I could buy direct from them if I wanted slightly different spec not a problem with a 4 week waiting time

Yes, very similar prices from 2 dealers:
14' tandem axle (wooden floor with sides) £4350
14' triaxle (wooden floor with sides) £4500
12 tandem axle (wooden floor with sides) £4150
Ramps another £450

All with LED lights, spare wheel and tie down points.

12' tandem axle is 675 kg unladen weight, 14' triaxle is 870kg (presumably without the sides or ramps).

From the website, it says : Coupled with Dual Drive™ suspension, this makes for a ‘reduced rattles trailer’. We like 'reduced rattles' trailers here. 😂

Firm I work for have a 16' tri axle since last summer, so far so good. Good strong trailer and nicely finished, tows well.

Only criticism is the tie down points in the bed which fold down, if you tie something down and pull a bit sideways on them they must bend a little and they can be hard to fold down or up in the bed. The other thing we noticed was there is no lip on the sides of the trailer so you can't side load with the ramps, a minor thing but miss it none the less.

I'd sooner have a Nugent than another certain trailer made in North Wales, we have a different size trailer from them about 2 years ago and the quality has gone noticeably downhill.

as above, friend has one and them tie down points are cr*p, they bend when pulled at even slight angles and won't drop back down. Rest of it is good but fastening points is massive and one of the reasons I went for a Bateson over the others due to have plenty of ratchet points.
