Does any one know what is happening here? Neighbour is a member and has been told there has been a big fall out and cmg are being sued, and he wont be getting what he was told he would be paid for his wheat. Contract was a good one he says. Sounds like a right mess and they wont tell him anything. He’s not on here so I said I’d ask.are Open Field in trouble?

All that’s officially come out has been the statement from Openfield that made it clear the disappointment with CMG

Nothing has been announced through CMG although it’s known in the industry who the new marketing partner is, until there’s an official statement I’d avoid speculating about it on a public forum

I think your neighbour should speak to his group chairman who will tell him what is going on, rather than the rumour mill.
Openfield are openly courting CMG members business, they would be pretty silly to not fulfil contracts.
I thought Openfield were already running CMG, very interesting perhaps the same is happening as has in the past with other grain coop's run by Openfield?

No idea, perhaps it's not common knowledge yet.
But not to be flippant, I infer that Openfield have been marketing the grain for CMG, who I took to be Camgrain, and that the arrangement may or may not have ceased, for reasons as yet unknown.

A quick Google gives some insight, and highlights threads on here back to 2015.

I just wondered what the back story was.
