Basic description

The Oxford plasma cutting machines are high performance machines with optimised cutting, designed for all cutting & gouging applications that require very high performance, in addition a thermal heating function is included to apply concentrated heat to materials. This function can replace expensive gas bottles.

The power source is a transformer based IGBT PWM (chopper) based machine. This results in an extremely smooth controllable output power & very high efficiency similar or better to what can be achieved with a quality inverter based machine. PWM has additional benefits including offering the very best performance, increased ruggedness & longer lifespan.

The output power of all models is infinitely variable allowing the operator to set the exact power needed.

These models can be used for both cutting & gouging & heating with the same torch.

These models feature non HF air starting to start the arc fast & reliably which also means no HF to interfere with IT equipment. Pilot arc is also fitted, this assists arc starting. The pilot arc auto shuts down as soon as cutting current is flowing to maximise torch consumable lifespan. In the event of the arc extinguishing during cutting such as when cutting mesh etc there is a switch to select continuous pilot arc. It’s important to minimise pilot arc time in order to maximise torch consumable life. Therefore any action which results in extended operation of the pilot arc will give higher wear of the cutting tip & electrodes.
