As the small build BNG requirement kicks in from the beginning of this month no planning has yet been given with these rules in place. I rather suspect the planners do not fully understand the rules themselves and may wrongly refuse Class Q and self builds if a BNG has not been submitted. I have had two Prior Approval applications come back invalid from the admin team citing no BnG - a sharp (but professional) email soon put them back in their place! As the small build BNG requirement kicks in from the beginning of this month no planning has yet been given with these rules in place. No you can't is the simple answer and they will have to live there 10 years without enforcement to then claim it is no longer enforcable and seek to make it lawful before then seeking permission to replace it with a house.Good morning
Can you put a log cabin on farm land and live in it without permission, I know someone who has done this they are living in it and going to put in permission for a house
Ah thank you, said person seems to think they can put in for full planning and they have been living there for a month, they seem to think it is acceptable to live in a log cabin and perfectly fine.No you can't is the simple answer and they will have to live there 10 years without enforcement to then claim it is no longer enforcable and seek to make it lawful before then seeking permission to replace it with a house.
Oh dear! If that was the case then the countryside would be full of city folk wanting to live 'off grid' - I get at least one new enquiry of this type a week.Ah thank you, said person seems to think they can put in for full planning and they have been living there for a month, they seem to think it is acceptable to live in a log cabin and perfectly fine.

If they are being a nuisance or affecting you in any way I wouldm drop a polite phone call to the Planning Enforcement team at the council, if not, let the planning process take its co
Annonomous Enforcement reports won't be taken seriously but confidentiality is taken seriously by Enforcement - so it shouldn't get back to the other party that it was you.thank you, can reporting it be done so no one knows?
Does this apply to those in an AONB?Congratulations in ENGLAND again.
Planning permission red tape slashed for farmers in England - Farmers Weekly
Farmers will be able to convert their unused buildings into new homes and shops thanks to new planning laws that come into effect today (21 May). Thewww.fwi.co.uk
Most likely issues but living in England on a farm obviously looks positive compared with us in Wales.Does this apply to those in an AONB?
My take was buying votes…I believe there’s a catch all clause buried in the details, so if the planners don’t like it you develop (or the influential local NIMBYs) they can turn you down. In reality won’t be big difference between PD or full planning…don’t think they’re cutting any red tape, just making a good pre election sound bite!
Some parts do. Class R and Part 6 apply but Class Q is not permitted in AONB'sDoes this apply to those in an AONB?
