Price of fencing

Hi guys

Got chance of some new land for grazing but it isnt fenced.

So I am just wondering how much it would cost to get a fencing contractor in to fence it. It would need to be wire netting and two strands of barbed wire.

Does anybody know how much per metre materials would cost?

And also how much would a contractor with post knocker cost either per metre or per hour?

Thanks

You would probly be looking at around the £5/m could be bit less depending on how bendy it is. Erect only would ne around the £2/m mark. Am sure some will be less but budget for that and you wouldn't be far off.

£2 per metre materials ( standard tantalised posts)
£2 per metre labour depending how many metres and how easy it will be to fence
£40 per hour for 2 lads and the tackle
a simple gateway will cost around £200 for materials and labour

fencing contractors are cheap compared to builders, plumbers, joiners

Spot on.

Glastir Advanced pay 3.48 per metre which includes an allowance for taking the old one down and away.
I have been paying between 4.90 and 7.60 for various schemes depending upon access and ground. That doesn't include the clearing up!

price of materials from two suppliers not inc vat. what prices are you paying for materials and machinery/labour

They'd be bigger intermediates than a lot would use (normally 5'6" x 3-4"), which would add a bit to the cost.

I'd be using Ht8-80-22 wire, so sheep don't get their heads stuck, but price is same ballpark.

To the OP, if you work on a ballpark figure of £5/m, you won't be far off I reckon. Lots of variables to take into account.

Is that tornado wire @DFC ? Where are you getting your intermediates from if you don't mind me asking? ;)

@Albert Ht8 80 22 is the way.

if you would like me to price the job for you then send me the overall distance and then if long enough I will price it accordingly .

I only use Douglas or redwood posts as they are guaranteed for 15years

the treated softwood posts these day are not fit for purpose.
