Thank you. That’s a good startSome info here https://www.fwi.co.uk/business/busi...ldings-know-your-permitted-development-rights
What are you looking to find out?
Sorry, what are you looking for exactly?Thank you. That’s a good start
Specifically I’m looking for the rules around putting up new buildings for machinery and grain and the Councils link to use the exemption in an application
Thank you very much George. I’ve only just skimmed a little of it but I think it answers what I’m trying to do. How do I go about informing the council that I intend to erect a building that qualifies for permitted development please?Sorry, what are you looking for exactly?
This is the actual legislation for agricultural permitted development in England - https://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/1995/418/schedule/2/part/6/made
You must seek Prior Approval and that requires similar forms to a planning application. The easiest way is via the Planning Portal or you can request the appropriate forms from the council planning department.Thank you very much George. Wales is still 465.Is that the wrong link or are the rules in Wales different? 1000sq m is the allowance now but that info sheet still says 465sq m
Wales is still 465.
To clarify, I’m in England. Is the permitted area 1000m please? This is the link to find the forms in England - https://www.planningportal.co.uk/pl...ons/paper-forms/find-and-download-paper-forms

This is one that I struggle with as there is no one single database of airfield's. Local knowledge is important in this instance.Just make sure you check the airfield 3km rule might not affect you but up this east coast there a lot of old raf runways used for, gliders, micro lights, light aircraft, parachuting and that’s an immediate height rejection and loss of the fee. Was never an issue up until about 10yrs ago when everything became digitised
It is the biggest pain in the ass there is seriously 3km who thought that was a good distance maybe for Heathrow but for all these tiny airfields about it’s just a bloody nuisanceThis is one that I struggle with as there is no one single database of airfield's. Having seen a glider stall on launch... 3km isn't a particularly big distance. It is the biggest pain in the ass there is seriously 3km who thought that was a good distance maybe for Heathrow but for all these tiny airfields about it’s just a bloody nuisance
