Going to make a front mounted spreader bar on this old fert hopper that I have. Spread grass seed 6m and tow rollers behind.

Been using contractor with seeder on rollers for a few years now for undersowing - works well when we get timing right so hope fully having own kit will ensure correct timing.

Would also like to praise the good service I got from Andy Guest (as I always have). Emailed Monday about some seed pipe, forgeting it was Bank Holiday, they replied Tuesday morning with price, I replied at lunchtime with order confirmation. Pipe was here yesterday lunchtime.

Could you blow the seed to the back and sow it from something either on the rollers or carried on the 3pl

Yes I could. That was original idea but means taking more crap on and off tractor. Side pipe etc. Also don't want anything left on rollers as they live outside.

I hope front boom will work. Wheel marks could be the only issue.

Want something that is set to go. Just hook on tractor and set Dad off as soon as I have the Barley drilled.

Any progress on this? Always interested to see other ways of making the green stuff grow!

View attachment 153846This is what I made years ago and it's done thousands of acres of grass seeds and stuble turnips. New rollers this year and haven't got around to putting Harrow tines on to the clod boards yet but that's tomorrow's job!

How did you find it for blockages? I'd imagine the larger diameter pipes helped.

Good stuff @KennyO, really interested to see how it progresses.

Not in your league but we're mounting a small air seeder onto the combination drill, can blow grass seed on when drilling barley and slug pellets when on wheat in the back end.

Hopefully get it fitted the end of the week, only ordered it this afternoon mind.

That's probably a better idea fraser. I've only done it like this cause we had the hopper.
Got to get harrows posted out now as field has had 30mm of rain since it was drilled.
