To those farmers in Europe and Eastern Block countries, are you experiencing an extremely wet winter with above average rainfall, causing serious flooding, as in the U.K.

No, exactly the opposite here in northern Germany, was seeding wheat this morning! Warm and dry.

Thank you Salusa , I am glad it is dry with you. Very interesting to see you are warm and dry as looking at the map you are not really that far North compared to U.K, perhaps it just shows how vunerable the U.K is to rain from the Atlantic.

No flooding here with Danube at end of land. Greater snow levels than usual. But even on melting no flooding. Tempretures in past 10 days from -20C to +10 C

Not been cold only about 14 mornings with frost all winter. T-sum was reached on the 24th Jan, but it has been very wet. As they say on the forecast 20 to 40 mm today.
It needs to dry up now.

east of Scotland has had a dry mild winter compared to last few

Yes. First winter in years fields are not ponding with water after every heavy rain. Been rain but not deluges so ground has been getting time to handle it.

Is it not really just the case that all these fronts are continually coming in across the same relatively small area time and again. Would be surprised if it is European wide but will be interesting to find out.

Wonder how much worse it would have been further south if it wasn't for that dry summer we all had.

Slightly OT but I understand the Western coast of France have been on the receiving end of terrible storms like us. Poor souls on the West coast of Ireland I can hardly imagine

Was a fantastic autumn here near west coast of ireland - still holding on to memories to make up for two months of intermittent deluges, some monster tides and monster winds last Wednesday (much worse winds forty miles further south) - a good tonic is to find a story of someone or somewhere worse off than oneself; this is how we cope here!!

I'm sure it is. Worrying when you reach the end of the line however and it is you. You've been up against it for months now
