Red tower energy?

Anybody had dealings with a firm called Red tower energy based in Scotland?
Yes my friend paid £600 for structural engineers report on shed roof for installation of solar panels. They have never turned up to do report. His contract says he gets £600 back when report done within 6 weeks but it is months ago and he has phoned several times. They just said they would be out shortly.
What do you know about them. ?
He feels he may have been scammed .

Exactly the same story with me and a few others in the area. Turns out there so called "office" when I looked for it on Google earth doesn't exist. When I managed to get through to someone on website phone number and questioned this she said the office was "in a house" . I fear I've been scammed too.

I checked companies house.
Lyndsey Woodward is director and only person in company by looks of it. Started in march 2015 with £100. First accounts due dec 2015.
Does not look good. Has anybody at all had a survey done or is it time this scam was brought to the attention of the police to stop other farmers being conned

A guy came out a couple of weeks after I signed up and wandered round with a notepad but I don't know exactly what he done as I was milking but he maintained that he was drawing a plan so some sort of certificate could be produced so they could claim the Feed in tariff. When I phoned "Stevie" (sales guy) he said he would chase this up and have a copy to me within a week. That was a month ago and he's not returning my calls.

My friends phone no is 07935965906 he has just finished putting slurry out and starts milking again at four. He wondered if you could give him a call to discuss what to do next. He has an old phone that is hard to text from

Can I suggest that you call 'Global Solar' from Glasgow who appear to be a reputable Solar installer, tel 0141 558 6954. I have been unable to get any answers from them regarding the fitting although they have told me that they used to work with David Kinning from Red Tower. Perhaps someone else will be able to get a better response from them as I don't think they will want there name dragging through the mud!! They are accredited with RECC etc and suspect they know more than they are letting on!! If they say they will check there list for installation and then ring you back, they will not ring back........but they know the crack. We just need someone to tell us that this is a scam and then we can proceed with claims from Credit Card Companies etc. Good Luck and I look forward to your replies on here.

Looks like you've been doing your research. You had dealings with any of these "companies"?

We also had this Bill guy round doing a survey. Took some photos of the shed, transformer and the electricity meter. Did a few measurements of the building and filled in a form. To be honest it didn't look overly professional but he did seem a pretty decent guy and had some good answers to my questions. I'm not sure what to think about the whole thing but fortunately I paid by credit card so they're aware of the situation.

I was told that an EPC (Energy Performance Cerificate) was required at a cost of £600 which would be returned on panels being installed. And yes,if I was reading what I've just written the word "gullible" may be one of the least offensive words that sprung to mind [emoji33][emoji33]

Good evening everyone within this thread

This is Lynsey Woodward the managing director of red tower energy.

I am unsure as to why this forum has come about however have my suspicions it's due to certain individuals who are disgruntled for some reason or other.

We are dealing with everyone's installs as agreed and I'd appreciate if anyone does have concerns then please contact action fraud as we as a legitimate company will welcome them happily to show details of our installs and investors which I'm sure will then put an end to these certain individuals who are continually wanting to damage the reputation of my company.

Now by all means keep chatting away however I will be keeping tabs on an further comments made that will damage the company going forward and details will be passed to my lawyer for further action on each individual. You aren't invisible behind a computer screen and will be easily found by the police using your IP address.

If you need to contact us or speak with us directly then you can call us on 08001808235 or email [email protected] where we will be more than happy to deal with your enquiry.

Kind regards

Lynsey Woodward

£600 is a refundable deposit paid by the customer to basically ensure that the job goes ahead once we have paid out to conduct an EPC and survey along with all the necessary paperwork on the admin side of things. More than £600 is paid out to complete the set up, it's a commitment that's asked of the customer seeing as we are providing them with free electricity. Once the panels are installed this is refunded (been refunded to countless customers now,). Marjory if you are one of our customers I urge to to contact us directly to discuss further.
