Because no one has organised a walk out.
And the fact it is a license to trade.
A walkout obviously isn't going to happen. How about creating an inspectorate whose job would be to inspect the paperwork of all wagons entering the mills. No red tractor sticker then no entry until provenance and safety of the grain is proven. Call it a blockade if you will but all you would be doing is ensuring the safety of food for the public.

if you're not going to dump rt then at least own it. Apply some reasonable rules farmers want and police them ourselves.

That is called back tracking after she went way too far on X the other night!

And the reason she has done it at the end of being on the NFU top team for 10 years is because whoever she will be getting her next highly paid job from have made it clear to her that she went to far on X / the way she has handled the farce over this GFC issue very badly and if she does not pull back a bit they will not be able to employ her!

The current mess with RT is largely the fault of Minette Batters, she has not listened to anyone that disagreed with her views over RT and has just did / supported what she personally wanted to see happen.

NFU is meant to represent the views of its members and not just the few at the top which is quite clearly the latter is what has happened under Minette's time as president!
My remark was tongue in cheek, not to sure she was talking about herself.
can live in hope I spose.

That would be insanely expensive to have someone on every mill.

A couple of weeks, maybe a month max. I’m sure some would volunteer with some machinery to create a checkpoint, hi viz is cheap too. Time it to occur when a boat or two have turned up as well. Get agreement to keep the grain stores shut (shouldn’t be a problem, skiing season soon isn’t it?) and I don’t think it’d take long to have an effect.

What the nfu should be doing (this isn’t about a red tractor embargo) is identifying all the dodgy tips with industry and farmer working groups then putting someone on the weighbridge to make sure nothing underhand is gone on. Like they do at the beet factories.

Food standards. Local authority inspect only occasionly because the risk factor is low rt, ufu, look on us as a poor quality of producers as if we need to be looked at with a big brother attitude if there were problems in production LA, would be round on a regular basis and only rt, nfu, have to keep the money flowing. With the beginning of rt, most know it was nothing to do with farmers but the generation to the mid thirty some do not know the truth about bse, even in agricultural comunaties
Food standards inspect every 6 months to 5 years depending on your last offence, if any.
Maybe the council authorities and food standards could dig themselves out of their £ holes by undertaking annual inspections as per RT, and increase revenue (sarcastic comment)
God knows they need the money as we pay £2.3 trillion to public sector pensions every year

It seeem even this industry is splintered, and has a mild dose of "I m alright jack" with alot of raving on here
The nearest to the end of the line food chain wise, is the livestockman, and he seems more prepared to cut ties with RT (I would get a reduction £, but the abatoir still wants the product)
Arable produce for animal feed (RT) is dictated by the mills, NOT the abatoir nearer the end of the food chain. Seems absurd. And the grain traders are sitting openly on the fence

If the livestockman is willing to take a hit, WHY NOT the arable man ( I stand in both camps)
Stand together or divided we ----

That would open up a can of worms, no bogas claims or weighbridge scams or lorries being turned away because the mill has broken down/ full bins or just so it is Friday Afternoon or the boat has sailed! The merchants, Mills, Docks & Stores will never stand for that will they?

Doesn’t matter. Stick a union rep on the identified dodgy intakes. This would soon sharpen them up!

Not everyone has the pleasure of living in Scotland. I don't come under any of the bodies you mention. My argument is if we had our own farmers scheme we should be able to control better the situation in terms of standards and cost.

If the FSA inspection had been acceptable years ago it would have been adopted in stead of RT. It does the job, I agree, but what industry wants is a brand. Best have your own Brand.

There's no reason the FSA can't be accepted now. The only reason there would be is that the cartel wouldn't be able to dictate the terms of it like they do now. As for brands what could be better than a union jack flag, or an English Scottish or Welsh flag. There's more chance of those being recognised than another "brand" sticker like red tractor

Was right with you till the last bit, have you any evidence of that ?
Anyone is entitled to think net zero, livestock emissions etc are true. If you want a farming future you better hope it's a lie and gets rejected. I read on this forum somewhere and if true that they want 80% less UK livestock by 2050 then I can't see a livelihood in farming 10 to 20 years from now.

I have found evidence from different sources and yes you have to be aware of misinformation and disinformation. There is the proof of the unelected WHO wanting to take power away from country governments and govern those countries themselves. The WEF are wanting to do the same with Klaus Schwab saying this on camera. This is sinister and unacceptable. Therefore why trust them harping on about net zero, livestock emissions. In fact it's more probable than not they are lying about it since they want tyranny dictatorship.

There are scientists saying it's a lie. I was told by someone they remembered being told on TV news in 80s part of Canaries (if I remember correctly)be under water by now. I have read about this too. Climate change has always existed over the centuries and I personally think it's probably a lie that humans and livestock are causing climate change due to excess carbon dioxide. There are scientists saying the trees and plants would inhale this excess co2 while other scientists are saying co2 hasn't increased significantly.

I also don't trust or believe elites harping on about this while they travel in aeroplanes and spend loads on transport, goods and services . They should practice what they preach which many don't.

What I've read is China and India are ignoring net zero etc. because they are supposed to be building more coal fired stations. I think the west has been infiltrated by elites like WHO,WEF and using net zero to suit their agenda of governing countries if not the world. I've read many corporations like fossil fuel industry are giving misleading impression hitting net zero targets while the masses are getting conned into it.

The corrupt illegal activity of AIC is the reason UFAS mills don't accept Gatekeeper lab tested UK produce.Yet AIC says UFAS mills can import Gatekeeper lab tested grain that is illegally produced under UK law because of banned pesticides. So AIC is presumably corrupt and illegal for saying imported produce is grown to UK legal standards. In fact once AIC illegal activity ceases we won't need RT assurance anymore and as a consequence the income stream for all those parasites involved with RT, AIC, BRC will dry up 😁

Again largely with you on that and defo agree that cutting livestock to combat emissions is just stupid given the fact that to put more carbon in the ground and more greenery on top the ground we need more livestock not less.
but do you have any evidence of her taking back handers ?

I haven't any evidence Batters is taking backhanders but speculate she is. Having said that why does Batters not address the illegal activity of AIC that is responsible for the majority of farmers forced into a RT scheme they don't want to join, that AIC allows UFAS mills to import produce that is illegally produced using banned chemicals under UK law and that RT continue to allow imported non farm assured produce to be sold under the RT label ?

With RT it's illogical to keep adding to the scheme over the years as it invites their own demise through farmer backlash so I do consider this as evidence that RT are getting backhanders.

I agree with your thoughts and thinking, The masses are consuming and feather beding all day everydays, and only get upset if the shelves are empty, or a plane or train is canceled, SO best to look after them to maintain control.
But to put a slight spanner in the works, at the last COP confference a big organisation whos name slips me now, said the best way and quickest way to feed the starving in the world, was through meat production, animal farming.

Well, I went to my branch meeting on Thursday. A sausage and Mash supper but I was late!! and only got the Apple Crumble!!. Then we had the meeting, I had raised the GFC and WWF Basket matter at the previous meeting in October and when it came back up on the agenda I raised it again. I asked whether people had heard about GFC and no hands went up. I asked about WWF Basket and no hands went up!! I also asked if the branch had lost members or if the county had lost members and according to the group secretary neither had happened. Now, do I believe that or is the message not getting through or what?. Are farmers turning a blind eye.? Have they got us so under the thumb we dare not do anything?. Does our BFU PR machine need to get into overdrive?. They will not get damming reviews in the next review if farmers do not know about it. I bet nothing is said at Conference and AGM in a week or 2's time.

It will not be possible to go forward with no scheme at all ,to endorse the safety of the food we produce in this country. It would be foolish to withdraw from the current schemes and leave a vacuum for the food industry to fill. They will keep chipping away at us if we have no industry standards. Farmers must have their own scheme in place that fits their needs and also fits national regulations.

Division will play right into the hands of the food industry and we will have a much worse situation than we have currently with red tractor.
You make it sound as though we are better off with red tractor.

It does nt sound that way to me,
We all need to get behind something WE control. Granted we all thought the NFU was reprecenting us untill IT WENT ROUGE
But the hope of everyone backing something else, is a forlone thought reading this thread. And no i dont want RT to stay,
Some body, something has to stand, to make a start to draw us together, and shame those who wont leave RT on mass
