ben on PR Sadiq would have won! Where was that white Reform protest vote. Surely they weren't all at Millwall Thursday all day looking for some footie?
I’m not quite sure what role a “Mayor” plays but there’s only one of them in any area. Surely this means FPTP is the appropriate system. If you applied a transferable vote system the whole thing becomes even more ludicrous. As a supporter of proportional representation, I can only say that it would provide much more representative councils and parliament, but mayoral elections are only choosing one person. Pretty obvious that Sadiq Khan’s election was legitimate.

My dear @Danllan ,
Firstly we need another thread,(which you may start if you wish or even trawl up again) on voting systems.

After that it does not matter the candidates stood presented the views, visions as good or as bad as they see fit in a voting system.
The electorate (of which you I and a good number of others on here are not part of) elected to vote as they saw fit or otherwise, knowing the voting system.

You are aware that the vote system changed from one form of voting to a FPTP system for this election( previously it was some kind of supplemental vote system) and the addition of the ID requirement.

Voters made their choice until next time or some other unforseen event.
That doesn't tell us if you are pro PR or support FPTP... :banghead::banghead:

Interesting outlook you have.

Surprisingly hard to get people to stand for smaller party's.
Greens struggle and they been going a long time.

Well quite. Reform are supposedly slowly working through their GE candidate selections, removing those where they've later found made historical racist SM posts.
Oh, and weeded out that fella for being inactive, several months after he had died.🤐

If they are then probably more likely to vote Labour, often wondered why the tories were so keen to import millions of people from abroad who won't vote for them.
Isn't it to keep the housing bubble inflated and get immigrants to do the work for less than us natives are prepared to get out of bed for?

They were meant to check candidates backgrounds and SM before they were selected.
If you applied to stand you had to agree to background checks and list all SM.

The Tory‘s pathetic policy of copying the US lead on Israels genocide in Gaza was always going to be a death knell for the majority of London voters & won’t be forgotten at the general election, the Tories are creating political suicide on so many fronts.
I rasther think it was the Labour party who had issues on this front with the winners being independents and a load of Jeremy’s old mates on the far left posing as Greens.

I was thinking of the result just in London & a choice between a Tory & the current chap
