You’ve worked hard, taken risks, invested money. Time for some reward.

Get out there and do it. Do it all, do it well and do it safely.

And bring your favourite internet sparring partner a stick of rock home……,😉😉
Pete how kind of you to think of me! Clive loves my feedback - now we have something else in common - I too have a 1969 Landrover - except mine is a 109, full carpeted out spec with proper door cards, left foot dip switch, Salisbury axle, overdrive, and a proper heater. (And a 2.25 diesel....and no MOT!)

Good on you Clive, did you upgrade the seats and suspension? Or is it like driving a Ford 6600 for 14hrs a day?

It's an event that's run for a while now, started as a bike thing but opened up to 4x4's 30yrs or older a few years back - combination of hotels and camping off grid in some seriously remote spots with medical and mechanical support, its not a race (........... officially at least !)

Prep and packing nearly done now - should be quite an adventure

let me know if this is interesting or not, if it is I will share some pics of the prep that's gone into the 2a over the last few weeks and will try update on progress along our route, I might even pack a go pro ! if not I will shut up and just enjoy
Excellent adventure @Clive , won't be quick though

seats are upgraded and pretty comfortable, also shortened the steering column and fitted a smaller steering wheel to make more space and improve the driving position as much as possible, range rover power steering means i won’t pull my arms out their sockets. - it’s actually ( reasonably) pleasant to drive now !

Shocks and springs upgraded but it’s still
leaf springs do not expecting rolls royce ride quality !!

Love to know more about "Alan"

Alan is a great friend and complete landrover nut. He has a very important and responsible job so not sure i can post pictures of him !

During covid when under travel restrictions we both fitted roof tents and converted Defender 110’s to a “overland” spec and took them to up Scotland with our families

We had such an amazing time and kids loved it so much we have since done Wales, west coast Ireland and Northern Spain - all of which being the most awesome trips camping off grid etc

best holidays / memories ever ……. can’t see us ever being happy in a fancy hotel again !

few pics of the 110’s on those various trips
