Shuttering work

Have many on here done their own shuttering work or is it too much of a specialised job these days?

I've a silo and underground slurry store to build and was considering keeping it in house, we have the kit and labour so would just need to hire the shuttering pans.

We already have some basic shuttering which we made for some shed walls so have a decent understanding already. Tho i don't think it would be good enough for this type of work. only thing I don't have a clue about is reinforcing, will a structural engineer be able to make up the spec? I.e. steel grade spacing etc??

Where about are you???

Dyfed steel will supply the mesh etc and probably tell what re-bar you need but i don't suppose they will put their name to it.
We managed to hire in some shuttering kit last year to do the walls of a slurry pit, its not rocket science.

Yeah, it should be straight forward enough,
The tank for example will be a simple 90 x 12' tank so not massive, its just all the little details like how far apart do the Waterstops have to be, wall thickness', foundation depths, etc, is there a general code or building reg guidelines etc?
