Sounds interesting - but yes, it must give some problems to have discs mounted there.
The video doesn't work!

Hmm works here, here is a screen shot:

Sorry for hijacking thread :-(

I have just bought that drill.
The 10 tines are on a sub frame which is bolted under the original frame.
They are ideal for OSR and beans but too far apart for cereals. Might put a microseeder on for osr and drop it behind the legs whilst putting fert down the coulters.
Planning to make an alternative, interchangeable, sub frame with closer spaced low diturbance tines for cereals.
Not sure exactly what tines yet. The recent Farmers Weekly article with Weaving Sabre tines has got me thinking.
May just put Freeflow tines back on at wider than original spacing, possibly with different coulters on the bottom.
My disc drill struggles with hair pinning when drilling into chopped straw and thought this would overcome it.
Trouble with DD threads on here is that there are too many people with good ideas!

Hi Knockie. Apologies if you have talked about it before. I can't find the beginning of the thread about your Freeflow conversion.
Are the legs on your drill from a Horsch Sprinter? If so, did they fit straight on to the Freeflow without any modification?
I have bought a 3m freeflow to make a DD. I have been looking at fitting Weaving Sabre Tines like the chap from Lincs in the FW a few weeks ago but they need the box frame turned 45 degrees so it is diamond shaped. This would need more fabrication than the Sprinters if they will just fit straight on. I would then put Metcalfe points on the Sprinter legs.
Cheers

What's the tine spacing ? I've only read good things about wide cereal rows, you have to get to 14" before things get worse not better it seems

Will be doing a fair bit at 10" this Autumn

They are 30 cm but can sow in 2 rows behind each leg. I haven't had chance to try them yet but they will certainly not be low disturbance. Not an issue for me as BG not an issue. Would sow ccs ok and only have 1field of 2nd wheat planned so may try with that. Then review in autumn.
